Gestamp Automocion is an international group dedicated to the design, development and manufacture of metal components and structural systems for the automotive industry.

Based in Madrid, Spain, Gestamp Automocion is present in 21 countries and has 70 production centers, 13 R&D Centers and over 18,000 people. We offer clients global solutions that encompass the entire production process from product conception to supplying the assembly lines.

Gestamp North America consists of 9 manufacturing facilities (6 US, 3 Mexico), a workforce of 2200+ and a Divisional Headquarters located in Troy, Michigan. Gestamp is experiencing tremendous growth and has numerous opportunities currently available.
Culture

Our products and technologies have a significant impact on the reduction of emissions and the improvement of automobile safety. Gestamp R+D has been created to provide global solutions for our clients and is currently one of the mainstays of our growth. Its mission is closely related to safety and to emissions reductions: “To offer the most appropriate and innovative solution adapted to each specific need, in order to obtain the best results in weight reduction, safety and comfort”. From here to 2012, we will double the investment in R & D, doubling resources, both human and technical. We possess and are committed to technologies that allow parts to be manufactured from the strongest steels. The most outstanding technology in this aspect is hot stamping. It allows parts to be manufactured of ultra high strength steel, which means lighter products and, at the same time, products that are more resistant to the impact produced during an accident. Another technology relevant to the future of the group, and one of that follows us to improve our objectives for safety and weight reduction, is roll-firming.
Human Resources

If there was a single defining characteristic to describe the growth of human resources at Gestamp Automocion it would be the accelerated growth of its employee base. Over the last ten years we have seen increases of over 1000 employees per year, going from 1.622 in 1998 to more than 13,289 by January of 2009.

As a result of Gestamp Automocion’s internationalization efforts, since 2008, more than half of our work force is based outside of Spain (the place where we started operations in the early nineties. Our international growth will continue to intensify in the next few years.
