Job Description

SUPERVISOR, PATIENT ACCOUNTS

 

Through advanced knowledge and experience in patient accounts, the Supervisor of Patient Accounting is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Medicare and other agency reporting and requirements.


The Supervisor of Patient Accounting coordinates, oversees and supervises the functions of Patient Billing, Collections, Patient Trust Fund and Accounts Receivable.


The position interprets policies and recommends policy changes to the Manager of Patient Accounts and Reimbursement.


The Supervisor of Patient Accounting will analyze data, advise management via analyses, and follow up on proposed or new changes in legislation that would affect facility funding. 


Position is also responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of Patient Information A/D/T, Insurance Verification, Billing, and Accounts Receivable Software. 

 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Health Administration preferred

 

Knowledge of and experience with automated medical billing and collection systems

 

Extensive knowledge of third party (Medicare, Medicaid, and other agencies) reimbursement rules and regulations required

3-5 years supervisory or consulting experience in a healthcare environment

 

Ability to train and supervise, and coordinate the day to day activities of the billing office

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
