First Home Care has partnered with DC Public Schools to further DCPS's vision that students with disabilities will become successful adults who live independently, have careers and are productively engaged in the community. We are seeking an energetic and committed candidate to join our team as a Student Progress Monitor for DCPS.
Student Progress Monitors coach and empower students and their families to reach beyond their limitations to aspire to the greatest possible academic and behavioral outcomes.
Student Progress Monitors will be responsible for:
Forging strong relationships between the students' homes, schools support networks and DCPS.
Run well-organized Individualized IEP meetings and remain poised under pressure from from diverse parties with diverse interests.
Write IEPs that contain well-formulated, specific and realistic plans.
Collaborate with a variety of DC agencies and monitor the provision of services to students.
Bachelor's degree in special education REQUIRED; Master's degree strongly preferred. A minimum of 2 years experience in special education K-12 REQUIRED. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and have experience using complex data systems.
