Overview
US Oncology is leading the way.

It is you, the individual, which allows our entire network of team members to be successful by contributing knowledge, dedication and productivity to fulfill our mission of advancing the delivery of cancer care nationwide. We sincerely hope that you will take some time to browse our job openings and various career opportunities.

US Oncology is a leading oncology services company and supports one of the nation’s largest cancer treatment research networks. Practices supported by US Oncology deliver care to more than 550,000 patients each year.

With a strong community presence in 39 states, we are a powerful national force of over 10,000 physicians, clinicians, nurses, and administrators. Our unique size enables us to expedite the latest advancements in therapies, research, and medical technology, quickly bringing them to those most likely to benefit.

This advanced care is delivered by more than 1100 community physicians at approximately 500 sites of service, including 91 cancer centers and radiation facilities. Our goal is to provide cancer patients with access to a full range of integrated services— including diagnosis, radiation, imaging technologies, chemotherapy, and more— in local outpatient settings, often under one roof. As a result, patients can receive the care they need, without leaving the people they care about.
Culture
May 21, 2008 I am pleased to tell you that US Oncology was recognized by the Houston Chronicle in the Sunday, May 18 issue. The Chronicle featured its listing of “Houston’s Leading Companies,” with two “Top 10” lists featuring public and private companies. The Top Private Companies listing included companies spanning multiple industries, with US Oncology placing 6th on the list. Placement on the list was based on reported revenue from 2007. In addition to appearing on the Houston Chronicle’s 2007 Top 10 list, US Oncology has also gained national recognition for its various accomplishments. The company made FORTUNE Magazine’s “Most Admired Companies” list for 2007, and, for the second year in a row our Distribution Center in Fort Worth received the Award of Honor from the Texas Chapter of the National Safety Council. Employees of US Oncology collectively contribute value to the cancer-care community. The Chronicle feature on US Oncology is reproduced here for your convenience.
No. 6: US Oncology The buzz about US Oncology going public never seems to fade. President and Chief Executive Bruce Broussard thinks the cancer-care company's sheer size keeps the speculation alive. That and the fact that he won't rule it out. An initial public offering "is obviously dependent on the public markets and might eventually be appropriate for us,'' Broussard said in a prepared statement. The Houston-based private network of cancer doctors and researchers treated 550,000 patients last year and booked revenue of $3 billion, a 7 percent increase over 2006. Last year US Oncology continued to add physicians at a clip of almost 200 per year and affiliated with practices in new markets, including Miami and Long Island. The company also broke ground on three new cancer care treatment centers. Broussard said US Oncology will invest $100 million a year in new technology and equipment to support patient services. One of those programs is iKnowMed, an electronic medical records system that Broussard said streamlines care and costs. The price tag for cancer treatment continues to rise at double-digit rates as new and improved therapies emerge. "Our most important focus is to continue enhancing patient access to advanced cancer care,'' he said. "We're developing efficiencies to mitigate those costs without sacrificing care.'' - Lynn Cook

A significant advantage for practices

Among the many business facets of a physician's practice, core infusion is critical to financial success. It is especially critical at a time when payer pressures and Medicare reform on reimbursement issues may threaten infusion margins.

Now, more than ever, physicians need the value offered by Oncology Pharmaceutical Services. By working with the network, efficiencies for oncology practices can increase and deliver lower drug costs. A customized Oncology Pharmaceutical Services program is a partnership that adds immediate value. It is a low-risk alliance and is easy to implement into a physician's practice.
