Based in Plano, Texas, LifeCare operates both freestanding and "hospital-in-hospital" long term acute care hospitals designed to treat medically complex patients who require acute care hospital services for an extended period of time, generally more than 25 days. Currently, the company's network includes 19 locations in nine states.
