 Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during research and/or product development, and all other duties as assigned. Develops and applies advanced engineering theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems on the forefront of new technologies. Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases or significant projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Analyzes, evaluates and plans method of approach and organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems. Establishes and defines the theoretical basis and principles which should apply the empirical manufacturing procedures to be used and the estimated time, expenses and manpower for completion. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Reviews project progress and evaluates results. Recommends corrections in technical applications and analysis. Specifies materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of technical projects. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. May provide technical consultation to technical staff, other organizations, internal and external customers, and management at senior levels.  


Advanced Level :  Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (i.e., dept/peer review).  Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.  Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments, and may provide guidance to other personnel.  This candidate must have extensive experience with chemistry, solder paste, tooling design, and expert in NPI.  Must be willing to work with the operators on the factory floor to ensure the manufacturing process is correct for the environment. Working with PE, TE, and QE to improve the manufacturing process will be ongoing for continuous improve and  implement LEAN manufacturing as well as implementing ECO’s.  Must have experience using Auto Cad, and or Pro-E, strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Project, ext.)  Must be a team player, very motivated,  and work well with minimum supervision.  . Often serves as consultant to management and external spokesperson for the organization.  Should have experience with the following: AEGIS, Circuit CAM, Cogiscan, Mapics, and Technomatics.
