Director of Substance Abuse Services

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the delivery of quality substance abuse services to our clients in Clifton and Shelby counties
  • Supervise substance abuse Therapists and the prevention team at multiple sites throughout Clifton and Shelby Counties
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of this division of Chilton Shelby Metal Health Center
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Mental Health substance abuse standards as well as all federal delivery guidelines to ensure the needs of our clients are met
  • Responsible for all hiring and training of the substance abuse and prevention staff
  • Maintain or enhance the level of services provided to our clients

Job Requirements

  • Masters degree in the behavioral health field with 3 to 5 years post masters, professional substance abuse experience
  • Three or more years as a leader and manager
  • Alabama licensure as a LPC or LCSW  
  • Working knowledge of mental health and substance abuse assessment skills with working knowledge of Alabama Department of Mental Health standards    
  • Proven professionalism with the ability to lead a substance abuse division
  • Alabama driver license also required
