CAD Administrator
Job Description

The Engineering CAD Administrator is responsible for establishing CAD strategy, documenting efficient CAD workflows/processes, and developing/providing dept training on these processes. This position requires expert level knowledge of 3D CAD and either SolidWorks or Pro/E.


*THIS IS NOT A DESIGN POSITION*

  • Research, test and recommend new and emerging CAD technologies and processes; recommend the CAD software packages, number of licenses, and hardware functional requirements

  • Develop and ensure standardization and efficient best practices for CAD workflows/methods, including Engineering release process, and create documentation of these

  • Utilize excellent knowledge of CAD applications, skills in customization of CAD programs, along with problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills, to improve department efficiency and system performance

  • Use strong oral and written communication skills to create and deliver CAD and CAD Adapter / IFS training to Engineering users

  • Be a respectful and active listener with the ability to solicit cross-functional input to improve processes and training methods

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, managing several projects simultaneously

  • Obtain pricing from suppliers, renew purchase orders, and advises for the CAD budget







Job Requirements


  • 2 years minimum experience as a CAD Administrator

  • Expert-level user with SolidWorks and/or Pro/E 

  • Excellent communications skills, and ability to effectively across all levels of management.
