Crisis Specialists/Counselors - FT 11 PM-7 AM

Job Description

Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems is seeking qualified candidates for Crisis Specialists\Counselors in Chester County, PA.

We have full time openings available during our 11 PM -7AM shift!


 

Holcomb’s Valley Creek Crisis system located in Exton, PA includes telephone crisis counseling, crisis walk-in, mobile crisis outreach, crisis residential and a consumer-driven warm line.  All of Holcomb’s Chester County crisis services are housed from this location reasonably central to the county for ready access by consumers, families and the community. The proximity of the services to each other facilitates a seamless transfer between services as needed to effectively meet a consumer’s needs.

Holcomb’s crisis service emphasizes recovery principles and maintains hospital diversion as a primary goal unless truly necessary.  Subsequently, the utilization of mobile outreach services will be emphasized in the effort to assist with both crisis de-escalation and hospital diversion.   Holcomb’s consumer-driven warm line is implemented to offer consumer’s within the county access to peer support for pre-emergent issues.  Our crisis service has structured outcome measures to determine the consumer satisfaction and clinical efficacy of the interventions.  Our services include the following:

 

Telephone Crisis Counseling:

  • Run by staff (masters & bachelor’s level)
  • Operational 24 hours a day
  • Provides counseling, consultation, education and referral
  • Service available to consumers, family members, providers, police
  • Solution-oriented interventions

Mobile Crisis:

  • Run by staff (masters & bachelor’s level)
  • Operational 24 hours per day
  • Availability of one- or two-person outreach teams
  • Mobile outreach to homes, schools, community, etc.
  • Availability of “bridge medication" for consumers with exhausted psychotropic medication supply  (of non-abuse potential medication and with proper prior prescription documentation)
  • Transportation, as needed

Crisis Walk-In:

  • Run by staff (masters & bachelor’s level)
  • Operational 24 hours per day
  • Availability of “bridge medication" for consumers with exhausted psychotropic medication supply (of non-abuse potential medication and with proper prior prescription documentation)
  • Emphasis on avoidance of use of hospital ERs and inpatient hospitalization

Crisis Residential:

  • Run by professional staff, support staff and peer specialists
  • Traditional residential beds (8) and 23-hour stabilization beds (2)
  • Recovery-oriented groups and counseling
  • WRAP and APD (advanced psychiatric directive) development
  • Emphasis on avoidance of use of hospital ERs and inpatient hospitalization
  • Support consumer community re-integration

 



Job Requirements

For the Crisis Specialist 

Qualifications

Minimum Education:  Masters Degree in clinical or counseling psychology, clinical social work or addictions.

Minimum Experience:  Two years experience in a behavioral health setting.

Required Clearances:  Pennsylvania Act 33 & 34 clearance, FBI Clearance

For the Crisis Counselor

Qualifications

Minimum Education:  Bachelors degree in a behavioral health discipline.  High school diploma with five years experience within the behavioral health field.

 

Minimum Experience:  One year experience in a behavioral health setting.

 

Minimum Licensure/Certification Requirements:  None required
