Job Description

ABOUT US:

We are a global provider of equipment and services for electric power systems. Founded in the early 1900's, the Chicago-based company designs and manufactures switching and protection products for electric power transmission and distribution.

Job Details:    


The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Designing switchgear control and metering circuits, and associated panel layouts, per industry standards and customer specifications
  • Specifying low voltage electrical components, including relays & meters, and medium voltage electrical components (instrument transformers, capacitors, reactors, etc.) used in switchgear design
  • Defining requirements and writing instructions for production testing of control circuit
  • Specifying and/or designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies and generating bills of material
  • Generating supplementary instruction sheets that describe the operation of control circuitry.
  • Troubleshooting complex shop problems and developing solutions to design issues
  • Interfacing directly with salespersons and customers to assist in field troubleshooting

Salary Range is 60,000.00 to 85,000.00


Job Requirements

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on control circuit design, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in the use of CAD systems, preferably MicroStation, AutoCAD, or SolidEdge
  • Experience working with microprocessor based protection relays is preferred
  • Experience working for an electric utility or in field applications is a plus
  • General design knowledge of low and medium voltage steel enclosures
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and work within a design team environment
  • 1 to 5 years experience in design and drafting of electrical schematics and interconnection diagrams for low voltage control circuits, specifying of electrical components to match application requirements, generation of assembly Bills of Material, proficiency in use of 2D CAD software.
