Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Senior Respiratory Care Practitioner (SRCP) and department director, the Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the provision of respiratory care in all designated areas of Providence Hospital including all critical care areas, medical/surgical units, outpatient diagnostic services, emergency room areas, Seton House, and Carroll Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Duties include diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, Medical gas administration, pulmonary functions, equipment assembly, specimen collection and emergency interventions, under physician order. Use of independent assessment in determining effective and safe methods for administering respiratory care. Ability to perform independent assessment and judgement in applications of respiratory specific protocols are required.
Job Requirements
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
One (1) year clinical rotation experience required.
Basic computer knowledge, ability to use microprocessor type ventilators and mechanical equipment, e.g. EKG machines, Spirometry equipment.
Ability to make independent management decisions and utilize protocols.
DC License, NBRC Registry (RRT) & CPR.
PALS, NRP, ACLS, Pediatric/Neonatal Certification Preferred.
