 Description SmartSource has a 6 month contract opportunity for a System Administrator in Shawnee, KS. In this role you will assist in the architecture, support, and management of the hardware and software components of our Technology architecture (Windows/VMware). The specific System Administrator responsibilities and requirements include:

Qualifications
• 3+ years of related industry experience as a system administrator
• Bachelor’s degree in computer related field
• VMWare VCP (or equivalent) certification desired
• MCSE/MCSA (or equivalent) certifications desired
• Specific training or certifications in Dell or Cisco technologies are a plus
• Knowledge or experience in migration of Domino/lotus notes software considered a plus
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds

Servers
• High degree of experience with the installation, configuration and maintenance of VMware vSphere technologies: vCenter, ESX/ESXi, View, Lab Manager, Site Recovery Manager
• High degree of experience with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers running Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/R2
• High degree of experience utilizing Microsoft Sharepoint and Exchange
• Basic configuration and command line experience and UNIX (HP/UX, AIX, Solaris, Red Hat & Debian Linux)
• Solid understanding of IP networking as it relates to local area networks, work with Network Engineers to troubleshoot advanced network issues
• Determine needs for new systems based on business requirements, assist other administrators in racking and configuring new servers

Software
• Design and administer multi-domain Active Directory (AD Domain) environments
• Have experience with administering Group Policy, LDAP, SNMP, RDP, IIS, Microsoft SQL, DNS, DFS, NFS, DHCP, WSUS, and FTP services
• Perform routine backup and recovery procedures using a variety of software packages including Commvault, Symantec Backup Exec and Veeam
• Monitor system status, activity, and capacity
• Maintain current server patches including updates for OS and anti-virus signatures

Storage
• Install, configure, and maintain a multi-vendor environment utilizing both Fiber Channel and iSCSI connectivity
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise storage systems and replication technologies
• Monitor storage needs across the environment
• Manage storage resources effectively
• Configure and maintain Fibre Channel switches, port configuration, and zoning
• Configure, maintain, and migrate storage volumes

Candidates must also possess the ability to:
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects while remaining detail oriented
• Define, document, and perform system maintenance and diagnostic procedures
• Assist in creation and deployment of disaster recovery & business continuity plans
• Participate in architecture, capacity planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities
• Provide technical leadership and knowledge sharing to other team members
• Maintain up-to-date records of all system assets and licenses
• Communicate, written and oral, in a professional fashion
• Accurately and professionally document all work
• Troubleshooting issues expediently
• Work collaboratively with other team members
• Escalate support with outside consultants/vendors when necessary
• Transfer technical knowledge to others team members
• Monitor ticket tracking system and monitoring systems without supervision

System Administrators are expected to provide first-class system design and support to the enterprise. They must demonstrate expert technical skills and be able to professionally communicate with end users and management. They must work effectively in a team environment, be willing to work flexible hours, and provide back-up and emergency support after hours when necessary, and document/transfer knowledge to other team members. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability apply technology to provide solutions for business needs.

Compensation: $30 - $36 per hour
W2 only, no H1B, 1099 or Corp to Corp
