Job Description




Representative, Sales and Service Support


Gate Gourmet, a gategroup company, is the world’s largest independent provider of catering and provisioning services for airlines and railroads.  We serve more than 200 million meals a year to our 250-plus customers at more than 100 airport locations around the globe. 



We are currently looking for a Representative, Sales and Service Support to join our Commercial Sales and Service team based in Chicago, IL.  Reporting to the VP of Sales and Service, the Representative will be responsible for acting as a liaison between customers, other caterers and Gate Gourmet operations regarding menu development, presentations, customer events and day to day operational activities.  This position will monitor, maintain and develop Gate Gourmet’s customer menu designs, quality assurance, performance reports, using a variety of visual and written media. 

 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively involved in day to day customer/operational activities, customer management and customer development.

  • Develops, manages, distributes, and communicates customer data impacting Gate Gourmet operations and identified customer groups.

  • Maintains internal and external customer performance reports

  • Regularly participates in menu presentation to monitor adherence to customer specification

  • Translates recipes created and approved by the culinary team/customer into an Airserv friendly format

  • Develops key relationships and materials focused on the customer and Gate Gourmet operations teams for the execution and delivery of defined internal and external expectations.



Education:

  • High School Graduate (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)



Work Experience:

  • 3 years experience in operations role

  • 1 year as a Representative, Sales and Service, Support

  • Extensive airline software package experience

  • Customer Service experience (preferred)



Job Skills:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook



Communication Skills:

  • Proven communication skills (oral and written)



Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Must be able to obtain AOA access.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must have a valid passport



Travel:

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.



Environmental Requirements:

  • Extended work hours

  • High degree of confidentiality

  • Working knowledge of kitchen operations

  • Domestic and International customer experience in and operational setting
