Looking for a web developer/analyst for a six month contract with probable extensions in Southern Maine.
The Web Planning and Development team is responsible for managing projects from initiation to implementation for Clients Public Web sites and EasyWeb channel. The group maintains relationships with our partners in Technology Solutions, the Project Management Office and other teams within Online Channels to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget and meet business needs. The Content Development Team resides within in this group and is focused on updating the customer facing sites. The group operates in a challenging and fast-changing environment of the internet and information technology industry. The business environment is very competitive where other financial institutions are continually introducing new features that attempt to distinguish their internet offerings from Client’s industry leading service.
Responsibilities: The Web Developer / Analyst position is within the Online Channel team and reports directly to the Web Production Manager. The developer will work closely with internal and external resources and business units to make content updates for Client's publicly accessible web sites in support of campaigns, new product launches and other initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for investigating and suggesting new technologies to help keep Infosite current in the Online Space.
The candidate should be a self starter with significant experience in Web page development and maintenance of template driven sites, as well as strong knowledge of coding principles and best practices.
The candidate Must be motivated, aggressively want to work, skilled problem solver, able to work with anyone. These 4 key skillsets cannot be compromised on.
Key accountabilities include:
o Consult with Production Manager / Technical Lead and other partners to obtain a clear understanding of project requirements and take on project lead role.
o Demonstrated leadership qualities
o Ensure all pages developed conform to Client web standards (including Accessibility Best Practices)
o Work closely with the usability team to ensure that pages being developed will attract repeat visitors.
o Provide analysis and design solutions for new web content requests/enhancements in order to identify specific tasks required for the initiative and provide time/cost estimates for web production
o Deliver effective defect management - act on Severity 1 and 2 defects in a timely fashion
o Monitor competitor websites and new technologies
o Recommend new initiatives to Production Manager which add functionality and value to customers' web experiences
Educational Requirements/Accreditation:
• Post Secondary Degree/Diploma (Computer Science or Business with Technology focus)
Technical Qualifications:
o 6 + years experience working in Web Development environment
o Expert knowledge of web page production technologies (HTML, JSP, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript)
o Flash Developer as well as high competency to read and write Action Script
o C, .Net, Java or equivalent an asset.
o Tridion CMS Development (Tridon API) or Interwoven
o Familiarity with web graphical design and optimization (Photoshop)
o Expert Knowledge of Accessibility legislation including W3C WAI and Section 508
o Flexibility to adapt within a dynamic environment
o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
Project Qualification:
o Project management experience
o Demonstrate excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
o Detail oriented
o Experience Writing System’s Development Specifications based on BRD document
o A strong focus on attention to detail to produce high quality, accurate and timely deliverables to meet deadlines
o Ability to work with multiple business partners in building consensus and relationships while managing the prioritization of competing requests in a deadline driven environment
