Web Developer, Front-End Focused


Responsible for developing high-profile web sites for our television programs and networks, including the official site for a top-rated series.


Responsibilities include performing daily development in a LAMP environment; working within a standards-compliant, cross-browser/platform compatible webapplication; and assisting in defining a technical architecture.

Successful candidates should thrive in a process-driven, fast-paced, team-based environment. They must be capable of working collaboratively to determine technically superior solutions that meet and exceed business objectives, industry standards, and coding best practices. They should be highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a proven ability to meet deadlines. They should be open to exploring new ideas and processes as well as be willing and able to provide suggestions and guidance to other team members as needed.

While we like our developers to straddle the traditional line between front- and back-end, this position will be more focused on front-end development with heavy JavaScript and CSS development rather than PHP/MySQL, though a comfortable knowledge of the full LAMP stack is necessary. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with operating both within the realm of the dynamic front-end code of the site in JavaScript utilizing jQuery as well as able to navigate around ZendFramework and general MVC PHP frameworks such as CakePHP.

Responsibilities


• Perform development tasks in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL
• Create and maintain highly dynamic AJAX-fed webapplications and microapplications
• Assist in defining systems architecture from a scripting, efficiency, caching, and client-side performance
• Development of front-end web pages using XHTML, CSS, MediaRSS, XML & JSON.
• Client side scripting using JavaScript, DHTML, and AJAX.
